About Dawn & Joe

Collectively we are TEAM THEROUX, also husband and wife. Dawn is an active REALTOR with ERA American Realty in Inverness, Florida and Joe is a licensed Real Estate Agent currently active in American Referral Network Service. Individually we are Dawn Theroux and Joe Theroux. We live in Citrus County, Florida and have been here since 2004. We moved from Rhode Island where we both worked for a company that performed non-conventional machining on metal components used in the aerospace, power generation and medical industries. Dawn was the Human Resource Manager and Joe was the Medical Production Manager. That was where we met. We have 2 adult sons, the oldest, Joe recently became engaged to Deb Burka and they are residing in Chicago. A July 2009 wedding is planned. We are very happy for them and happier that the wedding will be the summer! Our younger son, Adam, lives in Rhode Island along with the majority of our families. Adam has an unbelievable musical talent, playing a wide variety of instruments, playing in bands, touring the country and continuing his education.

Dawn grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut and eventually relocated to Rhode Island. She has a knack for cooking most foods and was able to capitalize on this when she ran a very successful deli in Scituate, Rhode Island. Her culinary expertise attracted many local residents and was subsequently awarded the food service contract for 3 Rhode Island State Police Training Academies. She went on to a career in Accounting and Human Resource Management. It was during her last position in Rhode Island where she met Joe who was working for the same company.

Joe was born and raised in Rhode Island. He is an Air Force and Vietnam veteran. He worked in the manufacturing industry for 25 years. He started as a shipfitter for submarines in the Quonset Point facility of the Electric Boat division of General Dynamics. He worked his way into the mold loft as a draftsman and liaison between the parts generation dept. and production. He went on to work as an Engineer, Engineering Manager and Production Manager. Joe is currently employed with Citrus County in the Water Resources Department as a CIP Coordinator (Capitol Improvement Program Coordinator).

We were married in 2001 in a simple church service and our reception was a pig roast where all dress was mandatory casual. The men wore Hawaiian shirts and everybody wore a lei. There were games, music, plenty of sunshine and good food and a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Cart. We received nothing but rave reviews!

We have a black Lab dog named Toby. He loves to lay in the sun until he gets too hot then relocates to the shade. He has plenty of room to roam and play but he does not like water. He does all he can to avoid the sprinklers and rain and especially our pool. He’s not your normal Lab.
